How do I care for my eyelash extensions?
Here are some tips for caring for your eyelash extensions:
- Avoid getting your lashes wet for the first 24-48 hours after getting them done, as this can cause the adhesive to loosen.
- Avoid using oil-based products near your lashes, as these can break down the adhesive and cause your extensions to fall out prematurely.
- Gently brush your lashes daily using a clean, soft spoolie brush to keep them looking full and fluffy.
- Avoid using mechanical eyelash curlers, as they can damage the extensions and your natural lashes.
- Avoid pulling or rubbing your eyes, as this can cause the extensions to fall out.
- Be gentle when removing makeup, especially around the eye area. Use a oil-free makeup remover and a cotton pad to gently wipe away makeup, taking care not to tug on the extensions.
- Avoid sleeping on your stomach, as this can cause the extensions to become tangled and fall out.
- Follow the recommended schedule for touch-ups and refills provided by your lash technician to maintain the fullness and density of your extensions.
By following these care tips, you can help to ensure that your eyelash extensions last as long as possible and maintain their natural-looking appearance.

How long do extensions last?
The natural lash cycle typically lasts 4-6 weeks. During this time, we shed about 3-5 lashes per day. After that time, some old extensions may fall out, and new natural lashes will come through, ready to be lashed. The best way to take care of your extensions is to avoid wearing mascara, remove makeup correctly with an oil-free makeup remover, and minimise contact to the lashes themselves – which includes pulling, tugging or rubbing.

How often do I need to get a touch-up or refill for my eyelash extensions?
The frequency of touch-ups or refills for eyelash extensions depends on a few factors, including the type of extensions you have, the condition of your natural lashes, and how well you take care of your extensions. On average, most people need a touch-up or refill every 2-4 weeks to maintain the fullness and density of their lash extensions.
However, some people may need touch-ups more frequently (e.g., every 1-2 weeks) if their natural lashes shed more quickly or if their extensions are prone to falling out sooner. It’s important to follow the recommended schedule for touch-ups and refills provided by your lash technician, as this will help to ensure that your extensions last as long as possible and maintain their natural-looking appearance.
What is the difference between Classic and Volume lashes?
Classic extensions are 1 extension per 1 natural lash. They enhance your natural lashes by making them appear slightly fuller and adding length. Volume lashes consist of tiny handmade fans of 2-6 thinner lashes to create a fuller fluffier look. These lashes are lightweight and tend to last longer than classic lashes.
A quick consultation with our Sydney Lash Extension Experts will help you make an informed decision.
Will eyelash extensions damage my natural lashes?
Each extension is added onto one individual lash. Depending on your natural lashes, your lash technician will be able to recommend the most appropriate length and thickness of the extensions to ensure that no damage is done to your natural lashes. During the natural growth cycle of your lashes the extensions will fall off during this time and your natural lashes will grow through as normal.
We recommend booking an eyelash infills appointment every 2-4 weeks to keep your lashes looking their best at all times.

How long will my lash extension appointment take?
Full sets of extensions take between 60-90 minutes. Refills won’t take as much time and usually take between 30-60 minutes.
Does it hurt to get eyelash extensions?
If applied correctly, eyelash extensions should never hurt. They are applied directly to your natural lash meaning there is no contact with the skin. We use a lightweight lash which in most cases you won’t even feel after your appointment. We also use a high-quality adhesive which is relatively fume free and does not cause stinging or burning. If you have sensitive eyes, they may get a little watery but this is completely normal and will subside after a few minutes.
Will eyelash extensions cause irritation or reactions?
Once applied, extensions should not feel any different to your natural lashes. Although reactions are rare, they do sometimes occur. Here at Superstar Attraction, we take every precaution to prevent this from happening but in rare cases, the possibility remains. If a reaction occurs after your appointment with us, please contact us immediately as the extensions should be taken off right away.
Can I swim or shower with eyelash extensions?
It is generally not recommended to swim or shower with eyelash extensions, at least not in the first 24-48 hours after getting them applied. This is because the adhesive used to apply the extensions needs time to fully cure and bond to your natural lashes. During this time, getting your lashes wet can cause the adhesive to loosen, which can lead to the extensions falling out prematurely.
After the initial curing period, it is generally okay to shower with eyelash extensions, but it is important to be gentle and avoid getting your lashes excessively wet. Avoid activities that involve submerging your face in water, such as swimming or taking long hot showers, as these can cause the extensions to loosen or fall out.
If you do need to get your lashes wet, it is a good idea to use a waterproof mascara and gently pat your lashes dry after showering or swimming to help protect the extensions. By following these precautions, you can help to ensure that your eyelash extensions last as long as possible.
Can I use an eyelash curler with eyelash extensions?
It is generally not recommended to use an eyelash curler with eyelash extensions. This is because mechanical eyelash curlers can damage the extensions and your natural lashes, causing them to break or fall out prematurely.
Eyelash extensions are applied to individual natural lashes, and the adhesive used to attach the extensions is typically quite strong. As a result, the extensions are already curled and do not typically need additional curling. Using an eyelash curler can put unnecessary strain on the extensions and your natural lashes, potentially causing them to become damaged or fall out.
If you want to add extra curl to your eyelash extensions, you can ask your lash technician to apply extra curl to your extensions during your next appointment.
How do I remove eyelash extensions?
Here are some steps for removing eyelash extensions safely:
- Do not try to remove the extensions yourself by pulling on them or attempting to peel them off. This can cause damage to your natural lashes and may be painful.
- Instead, visit a professional lash technician to have the extensions removed. Our trained professionals will have the necessary tools and expertise to safely remove the extensions without damaging your natural lashes.
- During the removal process, your technician will use a special adhesive remover to loosen the bonds between the extensions and your natural lashes.
- Once the adhesive has been loosened, your technician will carefully remove each extension one by one using tweezers or a similar tool.
- After the extensions have been removed, your technician will clean your lashes and apply a nourishing conditioning treatment to help restore moisture and strength to your natural lashes.
It is important to follow these steps carefully to ensure that your eyelash extensions are removed safely and without damaging your natural lashes.
